About the Journal
CognitivaTech: Intelligent Software Engineering and Adaptive Systems is an international open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal that employs a double-blind peer review process. The journal is dedicated to publishing high-quality original research articles and review articles in the fields of software engineering, artificial intelligence, and emerging computational technologies.
The journal's mission is to promote the generation, evaluation, dissemination, and transfer of scientific and technological knowledge through the publication of research characterized by methodological rigor, innovation, and academic relevance, contributing to the development of computational solutions that address scientific, industrial, and societal challenges at both national and international levels.
CognitivaTech provides a specialized platform for disseminating research related to the design, development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of intelligent technologies, fostering reproducible research, open science, and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. The journal encourages scientific collaboration among researchers, academics, professionals, and postgraduate students while promoting interdisciplinary cooperation and the internationalization of scientific research.
The journal is academically edited by the Faculty of Technology of the Technical University of Oruro (Bolivia) and is co-published by Editorial JOGB S.A.S. (Ecuador), which is responsible for editorial support, scientific production, Open Journal Systems (OJS) management, DOI registration, XML-JATS production, digital preservation, and international dissemination. Editorial independence is a fundamental principle of the publication process. All decisions regarding manuscript acceptance or rejection are made exclusively by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Board based solely on scientific, ethical, and academic criteria, without influence from commercial or administrative interests.
The journal follows the Diamond Open Access publishing model, ensuring that all published content is immediately, permanently, and freely accessible to both readers and authors. Articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors.
CognitivaTech accepts original and unpublished manuscripts throughout the year in English and Spanish. All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment to verify their thematic relevance, originality, and compliance with the journal's editorial requirements. Manuscripts that successfully pass this preliminary evaluation proceed to a rigorous double-blind external peer review process, ensuring objectivity, confidentiality, and scientific quality.
The journal publishes exclusively original research articles and review articles, prioritizing studies that provide methodological advances, technological developments, experimental validations, innovative applications, or critical state-of-the-art reviews within its areas of specialization.
As part of its commitment to research integrity, CognitivaTech promotes adherence to publication ethics, research transparency, conflict of interest disclosure, data availability when applicable, the responsible use of artificial intelligence, and the reproducibility of scientific findings. In addition, the journal adopts international interoperability standards through standardized metadata, persistent identifiers (DOI and ORCID), the OAI-PMH protocol, and XML-JATS-compatible publication formats to enhance the visibility, preservation, and indexing of its scientific content.
Through these principles, CognitivaTech seeks to establish itself as a leading scientific journal in software engineering and artificial intelligence in Latin America, promoting editorial excellence, scientific quality, and the international visibility of research conducted in these strategic fields of knowledge.
